About the Journal

The International Journal for Family Research and Policy is a peer-reviewed referred journal that is published annually. It looks at the family and the changing forms and cultural variations over the last 75 years. This journal examines the transformation of the family as well as considering historical ideations and the status of the family in various cultures and societies. Children, parenting, and related issues are the focal point of this journal in order to follow the various shifts the family has taken especially over the last 40 years.

Focus and Scope

Our Vision

We examine and study contemporary society as well as pressing social questions. Using empirical research methods and various types of analysis this journal highlights developing scholarly research and public policy to study pressing social questions. Our goal is to primarily focus on issues related to healthy parenting and families.

Rationale

To examine the family and the changing forms and cultural variations over the last 75 years. This journal will examine the transformation of the family as well as considering historical ideations and the status family in various cultures and societies. Children, parenting, and related issues are the focal point of this journal in order to follow the various shifts the family has taken especially over the last 40 years.

Peer Review Process

This journal is double-blind peer reviewed by at least two reviewers. Reviews are asked to consider the academic merit, methodological rigor, and appropriateness of the subject matter for the journal. Reviews take 30 to 45 days to complete.

This journal will appear twice a year.

Open Access Policy

This journal provides immediate open access to its content on the principle that making research freely available to the public supports a greater global exchange of knowledge.

Balanced Approaches to Research Areas of Interest

  1. Investigating the role of courts in family conflicts
    • Specifically examining the judicial treatment of the family (i.e., children, mothers, fathers, and relatives) after separation and divorce
  2. Examining consequences of separation and divorce for family members.
    • Particularly, the suicide of fathers, children, and mothers
  3. Studying economic impact of divorce on the family
    • Examining the child support regime
    • Studying the cost of divorce on society
  4. Investigating the needs of children for continued parenting with both parents.
    • Examining the concept of both equal and shared parenting
  5. Explore the phenomenon of children parent alienating the children from the other parent (PAS)
  6. Researching the legal response to family violence and practice of one spouse using false allegations of abuse against the other as a strategy to gain sole custody and removing the other spouse from the family
  7. Investigating the representations of gender issues as well as masculinity and femininity in our society
  8. Researching the family and changing role of parenting
  9. Examining social, emotional, and sociological impact of divorce on children
  10. Developing social models of community responses to social problems
